Job Title: Software Architect

Job Description:
 Contribute to and define software / system architecture, system structure, logical view, physical view, implementation view, architectural principles, security, scalability, availability, performance and other architecture aspects for Al-Rajhi Bank web applications
 Define architecture and software design patterns and frameworks to be dictated on vendors, providers and developers
 Selection of operating system, hardware, software versions and proper network topology as part of the architecture effort
 Defining coding standards, development standards, development best practices and guidelines
 Leading the effort of the integration of different components of the software which has been provided by different parties and make sure that all components have been developed according to standards
 Perform architecture reviews for the components / systems provided by vendors to make sure they are compliant with the defined architecture standards
 Perform code reviews on the development done by the vendors and developers to make sure that all defined standards have been applied
 Performing capacity planning and sizing activities for the web applications to make sure they cope with the growth of Al-Rajhi Bank online transactions
 Review and documentation of the architecture and software design of the running applications in order to create an “as-is” view
 Reverse engineering the software design of current applications and define improvement areas to overcome known drawbacks and weaknesses
 Define the “to-be” view of current applications
 Define transition roadmap for the implementation of the “to-be” view
 An active member of Al-Rajhi Bank architecture committee

Skills

 A total of 10 years’ experience in Information Technology field, 4 years working as a software architect related to what has been described in the role description above. Experience in architecting financial applications is a big advantage
 A proven record of implementing large and complex projects as a software architect, designer and developer
 Has gone through a full SDLC for large and complex projects as a software architect, designer and developer
 Heavily involved in development and unit testing of layered web applications that are transactional and heavily used by users using Java EE technologies and industry standard frameworks like SPRING or others. Experience in financial applications is a big advantage
 Strong experience with IBM product suite especially WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere MQ, WebSphere MB, iLOG and others where there is a proven record of delivered projects both as developer and architect
 Strong experience in architecture patterns like SOA and others
 Implemented web applications that are integrated with portals
 Implemented web 2.0 applications
 Hands-on experience in software design using standard notations like UML or others
 Knowledge of many technologies and architectures where the core is Java EE and exposed to many others especially .NET
 Certification in TOGAF or other architecture frameworks is a big advantage.
